This unit has been manufactured with care and will meet with your complete satisfaction if used according to the advice shown in this booklet.

This silent unit:

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

HOW YOUR PURLINE AIR PURIFIER WORKS

  1. Dirty, dust-laden air is drawn through the right-hand side of the unit. It then passes through a dust filter that captures large particles such as fluff, hair, pollen, dust and animal fur etc.
  2. The effective HEPA filter is precise up to 99.97% on any remaining micro particles and is able to trap particles as small as 0.03 microns.
  3. The active carbon filter removes odours and toxic gases through its absorption process.

4.   The unit is equipped with a negative ion emitter, which further enhances the cleaning of the air through the electrostatic precipitation of small airborne particles.

“ON/OFF” BUTTON:

Press this button to turn on or switch off the unit.

“Speed” BUTTON:

The fan speed of the unit can be adjusted when the unit is in operation (L  M  H). Each time that you press on the (SPEED/ON) button, the speed is adjusted from L (low) to M (medium) to H (high).

  1. When the unit is switched on it is automatically positioned in L (low) mode.
  2. To change this speed, press on the SPEED/On button again. The red warning light indicates the selected speed.

“Timer” BUTTON:

  1. By pressing this button, the purifier can be timed to operate for intervals of 1 hour, 2 hours, 4 hours and 8 hours, stopping automatically when the selected operating time has elapsed.
  2. Press this button (Timer) to select the required operating time. A warning light automatically indicates the remaining operating time.
  3. To select the continuous operating mode, press the button repeatedly until there are no more amber indicator lights lit up.

“ANION" BUTTON: NEGATIVE ION SOURCE

A feature of the air purifier is the incorporation of a negative ion generator. Negative ions help clean the air by the electrostatic precipitation of small airborne particles. If the unit is close to a wall and/or in a polluted environment some deposition of particles by this process will occur and may accelerate the natural darkening of the immediate environment.

When the unit is not in use, switch it off and unplug it.

All of these functions can be selected via remote control

PRE-OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

When removing the unit from the packing case, check for any shipping damage. Please contact your shipper and dealer immediately if the unit bears any sign of damage from mishandling. All PURLINE units are carefully inspected before leaving the factory. The unit can be positioned vertically or horizontally (on a flat surface).

KEEP SHIPPING PACKAGING for use in the event that your unit needs servicing. (If this unit is shipped without the original packing, damage could occur and void the warranty).

PLEASE FAMILIARISE YOURSELF WITH THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURES BEFORE OPERATING YOUR NEW AIR PURIFIER.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS.

1.       Remove the HEPA, active carbon and dust filters.  After removing any plastic wrapping, re-install the filters in accordance with the instructions set out in the “Filter Replacement” section.

2.       After installing the filters, choose a suitable location to position the unit.

CARE AND CLEANING

PLASTIC HOUSING – Dirt, dust or spots can be wiped away with a damp soft cloth and non-abrasive cleaner. Treated with care, this high quality air purifier will retain its attractive appearance for many years.

The pre-filter can be cleaned with a vacuum cleaner and can also be washed in cold water.

WARNING: Do not wash the HEPA and carbon filters; these are disposable items.

FILTER REMPLACEMENT

To keep your unit operating at peak efficiency, the HEPA and active carbon filters should be replaced regularly. These filters have been designed with large filtration surfaces and may last from six months to two years under normal conditions of use. The rate at which the filter clogs with polluting particles depends on the volume and quality of the air being filtered. If the unit is used continuously on high speed in a room with a strong concentration of contaminants, then the service life of the filter will be shortened. In a cleaner environment, mainly operating at lower speeds, the filter will last longer.

REPLACING THE FILTERS  (Ref. PUR 405)

1.       Switch off and unplug the unit.

2.       Press on the lower right catch to release the grill.

3.       Carefully unpack the new filters, removing the protective wrapping.

4.       Place the new filters in to their housing compartments: the carbon filter (black) should be installed first in to the rear housing compartment, then the HEPA filter and finally the dust filter, before re-attaching the grill.

[text in speech box:] The HEPA filter should be positioned opposite the front panel, the carbon filter should be positioned opposite the internal panel of the unit
