Instructions for operation

How to start

  1. When the regulating knob is set to ”   , only the dehumidification function operates. Turn the Humidistat knob and set it to the desired condition (0 to max.). When the humidistat knob is set to ”0”, the compressor does not operate.
  2. When the regulating knob is set to ”    , the Heater and the Dehumidifying function operate at the same time. You must then set the humidistat knob where you want it.
  3. When the regulating knob is set to ”   , only the heater operates.
  4. As long as the regulating knob has been turned from the ”OFF” position, the green running LED will come on. When the heater operates, both red heater led ”  and green running led  will be on.

Cautions :

  1. If the humidity which you set up is higher than actual room humidity, the dehumidifier will not run.
  2. When the full light comes on, please empty the reservoir and reposition in its location in order to have the dehumidifier function again.
  3. When the water tank is full, the compressor will automatically turn off, while the heater will continue to heat.
  4. To stop all functions turn the function knob to the ”OFF” position.

DELAY PRIOR TO STARTING

About 3 to 5 minutes when the unit is plugged-in. If the dehumidifier was tranported upside down or on its side it is recommended to leave the unit standing vertically for 2 to 3 hours prior to starting.

Directions

1         Insure reservoir is in its proper location

2         Connect the supply cord to the wall outlet

3         See “Instructions for Operation” above. Set the Humidistat knob towards Maximum, this will start the dehumidifier, if nothing happens, continue turning the knob clockwise until the unit starts. Set the knob at the position of the required humidity level ; if the air is too dry, turn the knob counter-clockwise. When the room humidity level required has been reached, the dehumidifier will stop automatically and will restart as soon as the humidity level will rise again.

4         Let the unit runs for several hours before setting the knob at the humidity level you want. If you stop the unit, wait 2 or 3 minutes before starting again.

5         If the dehumidifier does not start again after having set the knob, check if the unit is properly connected to the power supply. If the unit does not start again, pull the reservoir off its cavity and reset it in place.

6         The dehumidifier stops when the reservoir is full and you see the warning light on. You must then remove the reservoir ; do this by taking the water tank on both sides placing your fingers in the side grooves.

7         When the reservoir has been emptied, replace it in its location carefully. The unit is ready to function again.

Table showing water drawing capacity of the dehumidifier

-          Capacities are calculated under various conditions of Temperature and Humidity.

  -     If the room temperature is low, the water drawing capacity is low. This is normal.

DEFROST

When the dehumidifier operates in low room temperature conditions (under 12°C), the evaporative coils (inside the unit) will be covered with frost and ice. This will lower the performances of the dehumidifier. When this is the case, the dehumidifier switches automatically to the defrost cycle and the defrost warning light comes on. The lowest temperature of operation for dehumidifier PLS24H is 5°C. (Lab test conditions). Defrost time will vary according to the room temperature.

EMPTY THE RESERVOIR.

INSTALLING THE DIRECT DRAIN

PLEASE STOP THE UNIT AND UNPLUG IT

·         Obtain a PVC rigid hose 14 mm inside diameter of the desired length.

·         Remove with a tool the “Knock-out” located at the back of the unit in order to introduce the drain hose.

·         Remove the water tank.

THE HOSE MUST BE OF RIGID MATERIAL

·         Inside the reservoir cavity, where you have removed the water tank, you will notice an opening at the top left side. You can pass the hose either through this opening or through the back wall opening.

·         Set the (14 mm inside diameter) hose in position over the drain spout and direct the other hose end towards the direct drain.

·         Replace the water tank in position.

The dehumidifier is now ready to drain the humidity permanently.

CAUTION

Do not leave the supply cord loose on the floor.

Do not use flammable to clean the unit, this could damage the plastic casing and cause a fire.

The dehumidifier must be set on a flat surface.

Do not place laundry to dry on the unit, but locate at least at 50 cm from the air outlet.

Never introduce foreign object in the air outlets.

Close all the open windows to reach maximum efficiency in removing moisture.

Keep the unit away from any type of heat source or sun.

When moving or storing, do not lay sideway or upside down and avoid violent shaking.

Keep the unit standing for 2 hours before starting after transport.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

Always unplug the dehumidifier before cleaning or repairing.

1.    Cleaning of the shell

Wipe the shell using soft and clean cloth

If the dehumidifier is very dirty, please use mild detergent then wipe off the detergent with half dried cloth.

Do not wash the machine with a hose, it will cause an electrical short.

Cleaning of the air filter

The purpose of the air filter is to filter the dust or unclean material in the air. If the filter is blocked by the dust, the power consumption will be greater than normal. For best efficiency, please clean the filter once every two weeks.

1.  Cleaning steps

-          Pull out the filter gently.

-          Clean the filter with a vacuum cleaner or wash it with clean water then dry the filter with a cloth.

-         Place the filter back in its position.
