PARTS IDENTIFICATION (fig.2)

Connection to the mains supply.

Plug the unit into a properly earthed 230V.50HZ mains socket and ensure the socket switch is in the "ON" position. Your PurLine dehumidifier is now ready for use.

IMPORTANT:THIS UNIT SHOULD NOT BE USED AT TEMPERATURE BELOW 5°C.

Defrost control.

Your PurLine dehumidifier is equipped with an automatic de-icing mode to defrost the cold coil on which condensation forms during low temperature or low humidity operation.

Emptying the water container.

When the water container is full or has not been positioned correctly the TANK Full indicator light[1] on (Fig.2) will illuminate and the dehumidifier will automatically shut off. To remove the water container, slide it out completely from the unit using the recessed handle located on the back of the container (Fig.3) .You may now lift the container by the handle and carry it away for emptying.

…Gently replace the container. Make sure that the container is fully inserted in order for the tank full indicator light to go out (when the tank is fully inserted the hole and the float mechanisms in the container are directly beneath the drainage spout)

indicating that the container is properly positioned

and your dehumidifier is operational.

DO NOT USE THE CONTAINER AND CONTINUOUS DRAINAGE SPOUT TOGETHER.     (fig.3)

Continuous Drainage Option

When the dehumidifier is operated at very high humidity levels,

The water container will require regular emptying. In this situation it may be more convenient to set the unit up for continuous drainage with the following procedure:

·         Remove the water container from the housing.

·         Position the spout as shown in the diagram below.

NOTE: the dehumidifier will not operate without the water unless the spout is properly positioned.

·         Place one hand of an appropriately sized drainage pipe over the spout inside the housing.

·         Place the other end of the pipe in a drain, ensuring it is not kinked or coiled.

·         The pipe must be positioned so there is a gradual slope from the connection point to the drain.

·         Ensure that the outlet of the drainage pipe is NOT under the water level in the drain.

NOTE : in very cold weather conditions precautions should be taken to prevent the drainage pipe from freezing.

                          HOW  I T WORK S

Your PurLine dehumidifier controls humidity by forcing excess moisture to condense from the air into the unit as it passes over the cooling elements.  Contact with this cold surface causes the moisture in the air to condense. This condensed water then drains safely into the water tank. The dried air then passes through a warmed coil where it slightly warmed and re-enters the room at a slightly elevated temperature

SAVE ENERGY

DID YOU KNOW IT TAKES LESS HEAT TO WARM DRY AIR THAN DAMP HUMID AIR!

POSITIONING   YOUR  DEHUMIDIFIER

Your PurLine dehumidifier will begin to protect your home from the harmful effects of excess moisture as soon as it is plugged in. Excess moisture will travel thoughout your home, in the same way that cooking smells waft to every room, the dehumidifier should be positioned so that it can draw this moist air towards it from all over the home. Alternatively, if you have a serious problem in one area you can begin by positioning the dehumidifier close to this area and later moving it to a more central point.

When positioning your PurLine dehumidifier, ensure that it is placed on a level surface and that there is a minimum of 10cm of space on either side of the unit to allow for efficient airflow.

Your PurLine PL9 dehumidifier is fitted with castors for extra mobility, if you move the unit, it should first be switched off and the water tank  emptied. We do not recommend the use of an extension lead so please try to ensure that the unit is sufficiently close to a fixed mains socket. If it is necessary to use an extension lead please ensure the diameter of the wires of the cable is at least 1 mm.

When the dehumidifier is in operation, outside doors and windows should only  be opened  when  absolutely necessary.

TROUBLE SHOOTING

IF THE DEHUMIDIFIER DOES NOT OPERATE:

·      Make sure the unit is plugged in.

·      Check that the water container is seated properly in the unit and that it is not full.

·      Make sure the air inlet and outlet grills are not obstructed.

IF THE UNIT IS NOISY:

·      Check that the dehumidifier is sitting on a level surface.

IF THE UNIT IS LEAKING

·      Make sure the water collection holes on top of the water container are not blocked.

·      Ensure that the outlet from the condensate water tray, above the water container, is not blocked

N O T E :

*Normally you will see a reduction in condensation within a few days. In severe cases, however, it may take several weeks to remove sufficient moisture from the building and furnishings to obtain an acceptable humidity level.
